Born in Melbourne, Australia, Alex spent many summers as a child holidaying on the Victorian coast. Both environments gave Knight a love and appreciation for both the relaxed coastal lifestyle as well as chic busy city living. This diversity prepared her for a 9 year career as an international fashion model.
Even with her busy schedule, Alex continues to fuse her passion for performance and wellbeing, completing a Bachelor of Biomedical Science through Victoria University and a Health & Nutritional coaching accreditation from the New York school of Integrative Nutrition.  Most recently, Alex graduated as a certified Level 5 Pilates instructor from the Joseph Pilates school – Core Pilates in New York City.

Coupling her studies and passion for inner and outer beauty, Alex built the food division of the ever-expanding, Australian-influenced Bluestone Lane Coffee enterprise, a business she started together with her husband over three years ago. As a brand ambassador and a team leader for the business, Alex stresses that health is a complete experience for the mind, body and soul.

So what’s next for Alex? As one would expect, Alex has a few new projects in the works. One of them is selfMADE, a private 360 structural conditioning initiative, in which Alex focuses on a client’s alignment, fitness goals and nutritional wellbeing.  Tailoring her services to individuals give her great joy, as her clients rewards are “selfMADE,” which is her mantra for the sleek studio. Alex is also getting ready to launch a partially gluten-free bakery called Husk, which is set to open this fall.

How many countries have you visited?

I’ve visited over 21 countries.

How has Australia influenced your fashion style and lifestyle?

Fashion and lifestyle are very connected. My personal style is fresh , bright and youthful.

How does having globetrotter’s view impact your health, fashion, fitness and lifestyle?

My view has been impacted not just from the places I’ve visited, but by through my education is how I am able to reach so many people and I have an impact.

What made you call NYC home after your fabulous and glamorous globetrotting adventurers?

My home is always my home country. I learn from New York City everyday. Melbourne taught me how to stand, but New York keeps me on my toes.

What do you think about social media in relation to fashion and the hospitality business?

I use it to build ongoing relationships with my followers.  I love it. Social media gives us so many different ways to tell a story, from geo-filters, chat features, tagging, and a magnum of degrees to tell a story. I love that social media gives people a chance to present yourself in a way that people can relate on any level.

Any suggestions to people who are interested in having their own business in fashion, fitness and hospitality industries?

Make sure your passion is your strongest. If you have an idea, just got for it!

If you were not a supermodel, fitness instructor/rock star, hospitality entrepreneur, what would you like to do?

I would be an osteopathic medicine practitioner specializing in female health still obsessed with breakfast, and sweating to good tunes.
