Nüwa (nỳ wá; Chinese: 女媧), also known as Nügua, is a goddess in ancient Chinese mythology best known for creating mankind and repairing the pillar of heaven. Nuwa is a beautiful female goddess with snake-like tail. Nüwa is a goddess who created mankind, and who believes the world is rich with diverse cultures.

As the NuWa indicates, the website is built for putting a spotlight on diversity in fashion & the creative minds dedicated to bridging cultures. It was originally created as a personal website in Feb. 2015 in NYC, and quickly evolved into an online media outlet, officially launched in June 2017.  Since it was launched, it has attracted an audience from 33 countries, with 31 different languages spoken.  The goal of this site is to build a community for people who are attracted to foreign peoples, manners, or cultures.  It has been featured on Marie Clare China, People China, etc.

Summer Y.L. is the founder and EIC of theNuWa.com, based in West Village, NYC. Born into a prestigious media and publishing family, Summer Y.L. is a successful editor and content creator.  She also founded NuWa Marketing, a marketing agency serving millennial clients with diverse cultural backgrounds. Passionate about charity, she is the chair of the Young Executive Board of the Global Connections for Women Foundation. Born in China, Summer Y.L. has lived in the United States for 10 years and has global friendships and networks in more than 20 countries.  Summer Y.L. is bilingual in Mandarin and English.  Ms. Y.L. had formal corporate training at both prestigious European and American luxury brands including Bottega Veneta and Michael Kors.  Summer holds an M.S degree in Marketing from New York University, and a B.A. in Communication and Public Relations. She was once a nationally awarded model in China with a height of 5’9” or 175 cm. She is also an avid Argentine Tango social dancer.
